01 — Heritage & Restoration

A piece of Arusha's history, carefully brought into the present.

Built in the late 1950s as a picture house, the Metropole shaped Sokoine Road for decades. Its Expo-style façade with coloured square blocks was architecturally exceptional — a building designed to draw the crowd.

During restoration, the original character was fully preserved. Roof, seating, lighting, sound and sanitary facilities were rebuilt — without compromising the historic spirit of the venue.

Faithfully reconstructed seating The seats were rebuilt exactly as they once looked — a deliberate commitment to the heritage of the house.
02 — Capacity

530 seats across three tiers.

The classic theatre arrangement — Stalls, Dress Circle and Balcony — gives unobstructed sightlines from every seat. A central aisle divides each tier into a left and right block — ideal for stage access, microphone stewards and quick movement.

Balcony

7 rows (A–G), row A with 26 seats, B–G with 28 seats each. Upholstered, with a panoramic view of stage and auditorium.
